Gifts and health education during winter

first_imgA recent outreach and health education journey began with Walton’s Clinic staff and members of the Tzu-Chi Foundation meeting in Forbes Street.Health education was given to clients while they received shoes, rice, Sunlight soap and warm winter hats.The staff addressed the recipients about the signs and symptoms of Tuberculosis (TB), preventing the spread of TB, and the prevention of HIV/Aids. Condoms were distributed to both males and females.The journey continued to Sizakahle Crèche in Umbulwane, where ward committee member Mr General Hlubi met the Walton’s Clinic staff. Elderly grandmothers and grandfathers, brothers and sisters, and mothers of children under the age of four years old received valuable health education.Senior citizens were educated about their conditions, including hypertension (high blood pressure) and diabetes, and emphasis was placed on disease prevention and diet.After the outreach programme, the community enjoyed delicious soup and bread while receiving gifts including blankets, clothes and shoes.
